I arrived at hotel very late at night, the restaurants were already closed. The concierge was very thoughtful to notice that I hadn't had supper, and he went out to buy me KFC. Very friendly.

I stayed, along with my wife, at the Miramar Hotel in Xiamen from 14th to 19th January 2012.My inability to speak Mandarin made it impossible to tell all of the staff how much we enjoyed our stay. It was 10 years since we lasted visited the Miramar and we were very pleasantly surprised at the improvements which have taken place. We travel extensively and can honestly say that the standard of the rooms was as good as any other hotel in which we have stayed, and better than most. It is not only the buildings and fittings which make a good hotel. The staff are even more important and it is in this department that the Miramar excels. We did not meet every staff member, but those whom we did meet were unfailingly polite, courteous, helpful and very well presented.
